He traced the failing integrity of the Sky's End Anchor, a spectral scar where Tiechui's essence should have been solid. The Council's sabotage was crude, but effective; they hadn't anticipated the city's sheer weight of will still clinging to the remnants.

Heng gripped his own frayed anchor chain, the metal cold against his desperate fingers. The city council was chipping away at the last anchor point, a desperate act to regain control. "You think this will stop me?" he muttered, the familiar sting of vertigo a dull throb now.

He’d felt it before, the city’s groaning surrender, the silent pull of Zero’s influence promising peace through oblivion. But Tiechui had fought. Heng would not let that sacrifice be undone.
