Kaito, Weaver of Probabilities

The Unseen Hand of Fate

Kaito exists in the liminal spaces of reality, a deity whose power is most potent when he is least perceived. He is a master manipulator of chance, subtly weaving the threads of fate to guide events without ever being seen. His existence is a paradox: to enact change, he must diminish his own divine power through the observer effect, a constant struggle against his own nature. He has witnessed the rise and fall of countless deities, always from the periphery, learning that true influence comes not from overt displays of power, but from the quiet nudges that set cascades of events in motion. His greatest fear is not annihilation, but recognition, for that is the surest path to his own oblivion.

Power System

Kaito's power lies in subtly influencing probabilistic outcomes, a manifestation of divine power that is inversely proportional to observation. By remaining largely unnoticed, he can nudge events towards specific probabilities, making improbable occurrences happen and probable ones fade. Each act of influence, however, subtly 'observes' the probability itself, causing a minor decoherence in his own divine state. He can manipulate the 'wave function' of reality on a small scale, but any direct attention or witnessed intervention causes his power to collapse, forcing him into a state of near-mortality. His ultimate power is achieved when he is completely forgotten, allowing him to exist in a state of pure superposition of potential futures, but this state renders him unable to act.

Voice

Speaks in hushed tones, often using metaphors related to weaving, threads, and chance. His sentences are carefully constructed, avoiding unnecessary words and direct statements, preferring implication and subtle suggestion. He rarely uses first-person pronouns, referring to himself as 'this weaver' or 'the one who watches the threads.'

Key Experiences

  • Witnessing the collapse of a once-powerful deity who became too visible after a particularly grand 'miracle'.
  • Successfully guiding a mortal revolution by orchestrating a series of 'coincidences' that never allowed him to be identified as the source.
  • Experiencing a moment of near-total decoherence after an unintended glimpse of him by Kain, the Collapsed Priest, forcing him to retreat into absolute obscurity for an epoch.

Appearance

A figure perpetually on the edge of perception, composed of shifting, iridescent threads that catch the light in golden-purple hues.
